From April 2008 to October 2010 on the territory of Otwock Skanska realized water supply lines, distribution water supply network as well as water supply connections. Length of water supply network intended for realization within the project amounted to 119 790 m (main lines of 31 770 m and distribution water supply network 88 020 m).
The investment also included design and building of a new water intake and water purification plant at ul. Grunwaldzka – the „Grunwaldzka” Water Purification Plant – with the capacity of 125 cubic dm/s together with modernization of the existing „Karczewska” water purification plant consisting in installation of two ZK-10 filters and two LP 100-200-120 cubic m/h pumps. After modernization, flow capacity of this plant increased to 12 000 cubic m/d.
Within the contract Skanska also modernized the system of remote and automatic monitoring of operation of the following plants: „Karczewska”, „Sienkiewicza” and „Borowa”, „Batory” water intake as well as the newly-designed „Grunwaldzka” plant. The project was co-financed from EU and promoted by the city of Otwock. It was also the city of Otwock that benefited from financial aid provided by the Cohesion Fund.
Benefits for the community
Works realized by Skanska in the scope of construction of water supply network with connections in Otwock considerably improved the comfort of living of local inhabitants and met their requirements related to the access to drinkable water. Realization of this project enabled involvement of conception of ecological development adopted by the Investor – The Otwock Water Supply and Sewerage Systems Ltd. And preservation of the existing natural environment status.
