Safety Education Acitivites
In addition to creating local employment, we have also been running a major community project to raise awareness of road safety in schools. 'Set a shining example' is inspired by the reflective safety armbands distributed to students and is designed to ensure the very youngest members of the community understand the impact of the development and the dangers of traffic.
One hundred and fifty teachers have been trained to deliver road safety education in schools, and provided with teaching materials and support to help the rest of the community understand the impact of site traffic. It's more than just a community relations exercise - the safety campaigns are making a measurable difference to accident rates.
We have also taken the initiative in a campaign promoting safer driving, called "Kulturalna Jazda", Cultural Driving, together with authorities and a number of associations and local radio stations. This has been very welcome and highly praised.
