The building of the Faculty of Medicine, Collegium Medicum was built on the campus at ul. Wóycickiego 1/3 in Warsaw. The scope of work included the construction of the new 'Collegium Medicum' facility, demolition of the existing teaching building, installation of utilities, purchase and delivery of all necessary materials and equipment. The building has a simple, modern design and an eye-catching facade in a muted colour scheme. As a result, it blends in perfectly with the surrounding landscape.
The faculty headquarters includes microscopy rooms with high quality microscopes and monitors, a cytophysiology and histology laboratory with a modern slide scanner and a platform for archiving, processing and sharing slides between researchers. There is also a fully equipped molecular biology and genetics laboratory, a biochemistry laboratory and a laboratory diagnostics laboratory.
The new Collegium Medicum building has a surface area of over 3,000 square metres and a total volume of over 10,000 cubic metres. It consists of three above-ground floors and one underground floor. The construction of the building is designed to allow for the potential addition of further floors. The building is characterised by its low energy requirements, thanks to an extensive photovoltaic system and a heat pump.
