Center for Conference and Exhibition In Lodz completed by Skanska can host international events: conferences, exhibitions, trade fairs and fashion shows. Center consist of two parts: exhibition hall and multifunctional building. Distinctive element in a building is impressive glass facade along the whole building.
Exhibition hall:
Hall with area of more than 5,6 of square m. was designed to organized several events at the same time. Hall is equipped with the system of sliding walls so hall can be divided into four separate parts. Every part has its own entrance and the entrance gate for the exhibition parts transport. One of the gates was increased to a height of 7 m. for objects of non-standard dimensions. Ventilation, heating, lighting and power supply system have also been designed for four parts of the hall which allows to control each of them individually. Under the floor media network is distributed to the each of exhibition. The total length is approximately 1 km.
Multi-purpose building
This building is connected with the Exhibition building. There are passageways – main communal foyer with an entrance. The building is also a back office for trade fairs. This part of building includes restaurants, spaces for workers and wardrobe for VIP’s, recreation area, infoboxes, cashier’s desks and other facilities for handling events. Press room, conference room, coffee shops and administrative and sanitary facilities are located three floors above the ground floor. Offices are located in the south part of building, technical facilities and restaurant facilities are located in the basement storage. There is also a second communal foyer with changing rooms and toilets for visitors. All levels of the multi-purpose building are connected via freight elevator with capacity of 8 tons. Elevator can transport large exhibition and vehicles.
Conference Auditorium
Auditorium (with its technical back office) for about 400 people is located at the highest floor of the multi-purpose building. With the foyer close to the auditorium four conference rooms can be separated with total length of approximately 400 of square meters.
Ecological building
Lots of ecological solutions were used in the exhibition building. Heating is supplied by the heat pump system. We had to make 96 drills to a depth of 110 meters for the system needs. 20 solar panels were installed on the roof to heat the water in the building. Rainstorm water is collected in the tank with its capacity of 80 cubic meters and are used in bathrooms.
