Investment completed by Skanska included the construction of the 6- floor building of Centre of Information Technology of the Technical University of Lodz. Parts of glass site made in aluminum technology along with the safety glass gave a total modern look. It goes together with the aluminum finishing used in the elevations.
Inside the building there are: workshops, laboratory of network operating system, technology and safety and also laboratory of animation, computer games, mixed reality, film technics, biometrics and information technology industry. There are also designed spaces for servers, computing cluster, rooms for work – “nest” type and video conferencing rooms. IT Center is also equipped with rooms for staff, social, technical and sanitary facilities and is fully adapted to people with disabilities. Students can use an open internet café located at the second floor.
Whole building is fully adapted to people with disabilities thanks to appropriate size elevators and special ramp allows access to the building from the outside.
Construction of the building is mixed: skeleton with the reinforced concrete and traditional with bricks. The building was constructed on the reinforced concrete slab 1 m thick. Installation shaft, columns, ceilings and flat roof were done in monolithic reinforced concrete technology.
