Skanska’s full-time in-house BIM engineering team extruded drawings and delivered BIM models to all bidders to obtain valid pricing from the subcontractors. The BIM team also ran full clash-detection coordination to minimize change orders. The use of BIM technology on eBay has resulted in very few field clashes and contributed heavily to the schedule and financial success of the project. Our team finished this project on schedule and returned $11 million in unused contingency and buyout savings to eBay.
