In autumn 2006 we completed one of the largest investments in Tarnobrzeg - modernization of the Warszawska street. Construction works were executed within 15 months and their value exceeded 4,5 m EUR. The investment was co-financed by the EU within PHARE Programme.
Warszawska street is localized in the north-east part of the town and it is a section of the voivodeship road No 723 connecting Sandomierz and Tarnobrzeg. Warszawska street and the adjacent streets had damaged surface and the route was not adapted to high-tonnage transport. Pedestrain walkways, exits, bicycle paths and sewerage systems were also missing.
Benefits for the community
In the vicinity of Warszawska street there are over 40 small and medium enterprises employing nearly 600 people. The investment increased the area attractiveness to potential investors, thus improving the chances for further development. The project also increased safety of pedestrians, cyclists and drivers and improved traffic in Tarnobrzeg and alongside the road to Sandomierz.
