The modernization of the Widawa River embankments protects the residents of the Wroclaw agglomeration from flooding. The investment we carried out is the final stage of the modernization of the Wroclaw Water Junction - the largest in Poland and one of Europe's largest systems of waterways and hydrotechnical structures, located within the urban agglomeration. A major reconstruction of the entire node began in 2012, divided into multiple investments, some of which were also performed by Skanska.
The current project included the construction of about 11 kilometers of completely new flood protection embankments over the Widawa River. They protect the residents of Wroclaw and the communities of Czernica and Długołęka from the arrival of the flood wave. The task also included the reconstruction of 2 kilometers of existing dikes.
