The new bridge, with its improved performance and aesthetic qualities, enhances driving comfort and significantly increases the safety level of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, as well as allowing more efficient movement within the Poznań agglomeration.
The 315-meter-long bridge is a five-span crossing with the highest load capacity class “A” (50-ton rolling stock and STANAG 150 vehicle loads). It is located in the buffer zone of the Wielkopolska National Park and in the Natura 2000 area. For its efficient and safe construction process, the investment was awarded 1st place in Poland in the “Build Safe 2022” competition by the State Labor Inspectorate.
The part of the structure over the floodplain is a two-span structure with spans of 45 mb each with a prestressed beam section. However, the structure of the 100 mb long mainstream span and two adjacent spans of 50 m each was designed with a prestressed box section, and constructed using overhanging concrete technology. In Poland, only 2-3 structures a year are built using this technology, and at Skanska we have experience, qualifications and competence in this field.
