The University of Central Florida and the team of Skanska/DLR Group collaborated and fast-tracked the design to complete and submit it for permit in only 23 days. The construction followed suit with the team completing in 59 calendar days and enjoyed a successful “Opening Knight” on February 17, 2012. The project consisted of adding 1,000 general seats. Of those, 777 are on an elevated grandstand on the existing concourse; therefore creating a minor league ball park experience for spectators.
Furthermore, the team assembled consisted of 42% Women & Small Buisiness Participation, and 11% SDVOSB Participation. Quality was a constant theme throughout the construction phase, resulting in no punchlist items at the end of the project.
